In 2002, World Health Organization estimated that 1.4 million of deaths among children under five years due to diseases that could have been prevented by routine vaccination.However, these diseases can be prevented with vaccines.

To ensure that infants/children and mothers have access to routinely recommended infant/childhood vaccines, the DOH-Metro Manila Center for Health Development launched on November 7, the Vax-Baby-Vax Routine Catch-up Immunization Campaign at Lakeshore Hall, in Taguig City.
