The decision would prohibit puberty blockers, hormones, cross-hormone therapy and gender-affirming surgery for people under the age of 18. Members of the board, alongside the board attorney, had not seen this happen before, as the two boards would uphold different standards of care.The treatments in question are used for those experiencing gender dysphoria -- when a person experiences emotional distress because of the misalignment between their sex at birth and their gender identity.
The room was overwhelmingly in opposition of the rule, with outbursts occurring several times throughout the meeting.
So how is this different from male and female youth care?
One of the times I wish the south, particularly Florida for so many more reasons, had followed through with their threat to secede from the union.
