A cancer ambassador and survivor Sergeant Basani Mehala, who has been living with cancer for nine years, believes that every type of cancer can be beaten with a positive mindset and support.

“When I was diagnosed with cancer, I was shattered, sad and confused. I underwent treatment and my doctor, Carol Benn at Milpark Hospital, said cancer medication heals cancer on a 30% ratio and the other 70% healing ratio must be stimulated by an individual’s thought patterns,” said Basani. After winning the treatment battle, which weakened her body, Basani started looking at life differently and now enjoys each day as if it’s her last.
