An Indianapolis doctor thrust into national news on abortion is suing to stop Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita from obtaining medical records.

, and her medical partner Dr. Amy Caldwell claim in their lawsuit Rokita's office has sent subpoenas for medical records of patients who never filed complaints to the attorney general's office.

IndyStar requested information on the complaints from Rokita's office. Those requests were denied in September, but the lawsuit filed Thursday by Bernard and Caldwell describe what some of them said.Seven people filed consumer complaints against Bernard to the Indiana Attorney General's Office between July 8 and July 12, according to the lawsuit.

One complaint said Bernard"kept knowledge of the rape of a 10 year old from authorities." In July, however, the Indiana Department of Health provided IndyStar a copy of a termination of pregnancy report filled out by Bernard that confirmed she did report the abortion, and alerted the state that the 10-year-old had suffered abuse.Another complaint from a resident in Ohio accused Bernard of spreading false information by relating the anecdote of the 10-year-old to media.

But in the weeks after IndyStar published the story on Bernard, authorities in Ohio charged a man with rape in connection with the 10-year-old. Columbus police were informed of the girl's pregnancy through a referral by Franklin County Children Services that was made by her mom on June 22.

This man is a disgrace to his office. A complete abuse of power. Someone please tell me where I can file a complaint against him!

'Abortion doctor' is terrible phrasing for an obstetrician-gynecologist. I don't call my mechanic 'the oil change guy.'

So false complaints can be filed and the AG can use them to try to obtain medical records for people other than those who filed the complaints? Scary.

Rokita is a despicable sad excuse for a human being! a total waste of carbon and oxygen.

Why Republican AGs are dangerous in this political climate. Just like in Ohio, they push legal boundaries if not flout them altogether. It was a made up story. Never happened This poor girl has had a difficult enough time. Why does the gop continue to torment and torture her? Why do they hate women so much they need to punish them in difficult and traumatic times. Vote these people out. VoteBlueIn2022

Doc Who Provided Abortion to 10-Year-Old Rape Victim Sues Indiana AGIndiana Attorney General Todd Rokita publicly and baselessly insinuated that Dr. Caitlin Bernard had committed medical misconduct in her treatment of the girl. Not surprising the AG is doing this when the abortion doctor may be covering up statutory rape of minors by adult males as old as 50 years old. Hiding that information is a felony. The doctor needs to put closure on her affairs as felons serve serious time behind bars.
