Garry Dart is helping educate people on the importance of proper pronoun usage and respect. GARRY DARTIt’s a question commonly asked in modern Canadian society, yet many still struggle to adhere to the new social standard. Like many social norms, it takes time for the shift to happen widespread before becoming normalized.
“We’ve had incredible feedback from staff and clients about having that visibility, having that in spaces and getting that information out. A lot of staff heard about the pronoun campaign and wanted more resources and training. So, we’ve added everything to our website,” says Dart. A big part of campaigns like this is not only increasing awareness and normalization but also helping create actionable allies.
🤣 ridiculous
Does everyone in NS have a family doctor? In BC we don't.
Also maybe they should focus on being open. My aunt has cancer and the emerges are half closed. so she’ll be dead but with quality pronouns.
And every body there quit encases.
If I am at the hospital and someone asks for my pronouns before my symptoms, I would like another person to tend to me.
Also, I can't see this pronoun program giving much confidence to parents of babies born w/ DSDs. Why is the 'I' included in this? DSDs have nothing to do w/ pronouns. Neither does the LGB. SexMatters
nshealth If you ask a woman her pronouns you are informing her that you do not respect her sex-based Charter rights. Sure you want to do that?
If ole Gary uses both he and she pronouns, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose?
I have never in my life been asked what my pronouns were and have never once heard anyone asking this of anyone else. It isn’t commonly asked at all.
What we are looking at there is the AGP smirk. It means 'I'm imposing my will and you cannot stop me'.
