Zexi Li, the Ottawa woman behind a court injunction that stopped truckers from blaring their horns during the protest, also testified that she felt unsafe during the occupation.Article content
In cross-examination by a lawyer representing convoy protesters, Li was asked whether she saw truckers threaten to physically harm anyone, engage in “espionage or sabotage,” light fires inside buildings or destroy vehicles.Li also agreed that the horn-honking eased after the court injunction she sought against it was granted on Feb. 7.
The “Freedom Convoy” protesters began arriving in Ottawa in large trucks and other vehicles in late January and occupied downtown streets for three weeks, shooting off fireworks, holding dance parties, waving Canadian flags and “Fu** Trudeau” banners and listening to speeches. The demonstration was against COVID-19 vaccine mandates and lockdowns, but many participants also opposed Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Liberal government and some espoused a variety of other causes and conspiracies.Article content

“As a small Asian woman wearing a mask, she was a target, said Li. When she chose not to engage with protesters, they “almost took joy” in yelling at her in unison and honking louder, said Li.” Funny she had no digital evidence of any of this. Not one single pic/video.
