The Philippine Red Cross assured that it will provide an “up to par” Emergency Medical Services training program for its staff and volunteers through its new five “state-of-the-art” training mannequins.“The public should know that the Red Cross is always striving for innovation, and we push to excel in any service we provide.

These state-of-the-art training robots will ensure that the training we give will help people save more lives, and that is what is important to us, saving lives,” said PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon in a statement. The training mannequins, PRC said, are “robots” that will enable its Emergency Medical Responders and Emergency Medical Technicians to conduct real-life simulation training activities. These have mechanical monitoring instruments that will show the effectiveness of the resuscitation and realistic anatomy suitable for proper defibrillation pad placement training, PRC noted.

“PRC’s high-tech training mannequins are capable of highly developed instructions and simulations of realistic and correct anatomical and physiological conditions during cardiopulmonary resuscitation by means of rescue breathing and chest compression,” the organization said. PRC added that these will equip the trainees will critical life-saving knowledge for Ambulance Operation Management and Mass Casualty Incident management. The newly acquired mannequins are currently being used at the PRC National Headquarters in Mandaluyong City.
