The Victorian Opposition has announced their plan to station Protective Service Officers at five hospitals in Victoria if elected at next month’s state election.

The two-year trial would see the officers stationed at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Dandenong, Frankston, BoxNone of the health services have been approached by the Coalition about its proposal.

The officers would be armed and patrol the wards, but their weapons would be stowed in a secure safe before entering mental health wards.
