The 'America's Got Talent' judge and comedian participated in a virtual discussion this week on mental health issues — and how a new therapy can help those with OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder).

during the virtual session,"Why do you think there is still a stigma attached to mental health issues in this country?"

He added,"As a child, if you referred to something as mental it was never a positive. And people who did suffer from mental issues were traditionally removed from society and locked away." Mandel also said,"I’m proud to be a public face — one of many — who today focus on mental health and hopefully encourage everyone [to know] they are not alone. Please do visit NOCD and know many treatments available today are covered by insurance."

NOCD, co-founded by Stephen Smith of Chicago, aims to"restore hope for people with OCD through better awareness and treatment."

Psychedelic microdosing hits a rough patch in clinical trialsRecent results cast doubt on claims that small amounts of these drugs can benefit mental health. Just call it 'homeopathy' and everything is fine “Maybe an effect is only evident when people have a depressive disorder or mood problem,” …yeah I’d say if you want to study whether or not psychedelics have an effect on treating mood disorders you should probably run trials on people with mood disorders. Oh excellent. Participants didn't break blind on this new study? Fantastic.
