The number of Americans who have health insurance has never been higher — but more than 40% surveyed this year said they struggled to pay medical bills or were paying off medical debt, according to one report.

It's the latest evidence that insurance coverage alone can't insulate people against soaring medical costs, leaving some facing long-term financial consequences.survey, based on responses from more than 6,000 people between March and July 2022, nearly half of the respondents said they would be unable to pay an unexpected $1,000 medical bill within 30 days.

About 2 in 5 who said they had problems paying down medical debt reported problems like lowered credit ratings, credit card debt or depleted savings. Nearly 1 in 10 had taken a mortgage against their home or obtained a loan to pay back their medical debt.

Roe is just the beginning…

No red wave coming, thankfully. Just wish Dems had a chance to stay the majority in the House. I believe the Dems will keep majority in Senste.

The tweet is about Roe and the amount of people who say they’re going to vote in the midterms but the article is about medical debt. There’s still a red wave coming because independents are sick of the woke politics and the policies leading to inflation we haven’t seen in years

Voting Democrat will save democracy and give back to women their right to bodily autonomy. WomensEquality. ProChoice.

Will $AFRM solve the medical debt issue?

Still going to be a red wave.

How many doctors run the risk of lawsuit, pay shit load of malpractice, and still have to operate on the uninsured? Modern day reparations

Universal healthcare: helps everyone

So imagine how bad off they'd be without health insurance programs that have been put in place over the past decade. But there also needs to be more emphasis on lowering the price of healthcare and drugs.

There is another category. Ignoring health issues because you can’t afford treatment.

I’m in that boat.

Medical insecurity remains a key barrier in labor movement and a key fiscal fear for every family in 🇺🇸. In taking risks with career, medical coverage is a barrier. I wonder if someone has done an attitudinal study among OECD countries to see how we fare.

Yeah that’s cause private healthcare is a massive scam
