You could probably hire every unemployed therapist and it wouldn't matter. If there is that much of a shortage then not enough people are going into the field. This is probably because most people dont want to hear about other people's problems.

Kaiser has increased mental health staff by 30% since 2015.

Stigma attached to mental illness is yuge problem. Not to mention GOP cutting funds and closing facilities of facilities that began with Reagan. Too, most insurance covers only half the cost. A more sane nation is not a national priority.

A shortage of psychologists in CA? That explains a lot 😁
