Eli Gold surprised listeners of the Crimson Tide Sports Network prior to the start of the Alabama-Texas game on Saturday when he made a five-minute surprise appearance to update his health.
“I’m doing well. I don’t have any staph-degree disease or anything like that. It’s just a matter of getting my get-along OK.”He thanked Alabama fans for reaching out, pointing out the support has been overwhelming. That would indicate Gold will miss the Louisiana Monroe game on Sept. 17 and the Sept. 24 game against Vanderbilt. A potential return could be Oct. 1 game at Arkansas.
