3 years....3 years waiting on a license for Ontario. Took 1 month to get into usa.

My best friend is an RPN and hasn’t had a raise in 5 years and makes $16 less than an RN. She wants to leave nursing and so do the other nurses she works with. FIX IT

Took them long enough. New Brunswick needs to do this as well.

If you or someone you love are on a stretcher fighting for life, are you really gonna care what country the nurses come from?

Maybe they should look at registering third year Ontario BScN students also?

They won’t be hired through hospitals but a hiring agency owned by a someone who is involved with the conservative government.

Good God, it's about frigging time

Great news. I wish we had done this years ago, but better late than never.

I know we need more nurses but we need to ensure hiring foreign trained healthcare personnel is done ethically. There are ethical implications for the applicants and for the countries who are educating and losing their services.

That's one field... there is many more we could do this for

To bad jjhorgan adriandix wouldn’t get off their plush tax payers chairs to figure out the same thing. CastanetNews

Great. Just great.

My MSc. in math from a Dutch university was recognized when I became a landed immigrant, but not recognized by the Canadian govt after that. GovtLogic

Yet they are STILL BEING FIRED. ANYONE GOING TO ADDRESS THIS?

How about simply going back to the 2 year RN program at hospitals, what has a degree done to improve nursing care ?

Good start. Now pay them all more $$$

I have been saying this for years.. Finally

Hey. Knock knock. Let’s hire the millions of Canadians you fired. We have no more room for foreigners.

Perhaps look into why Nursing Colleges in eastern ON have 25 spots avlb with 20 of them saved for Int students while waitlisting CND applicants. Perhaps there wouldn't be such a HSPTL shortage if the schools opened their applicant waitlists for recent CND HS grads?

About 3 years late.

This should have been in place over the past few decades.

but, they still won't pay them more, so they won't.
