The Overberg Traffic Services lead the rescue team providing lighting on the bridge along the N2’s Breede River bridge as well as controlled the traffic.
A response team of divers provided by the NSRI Agulhas did a “sweep-line search” without yielding any positive results, the body could not be recovered. The search carried on the next day with the Police Dive Unit scuba diving in search of the missing man. The divers found the remains of the man and handed them over to Government Health Forensic Pathology Services.Also read:
