Medical practitioners have said that many Nigerians living with hypertension, diabetes, and other chronic health issues are unaware of their health conditions, warning that they are at risk of serious complications.

Harping on the importance of regular health checks, the general practitioner said, “it is very important that everybody from the age of 30 and above, especially those who have a family history of hypertension, check their blood pressure every six months or twice a year.

“For those who do not have high blood pressure, I advise them to check their blood pressure every six months. So, also it is for sugar. People who have diabetes, may not know that they have diabetes unless they go and check their blood sugar. If you check your blood sugar, then, it will give you an indication of whether you have diabetes or whether you will have diabetes.
