All three people began showing symptoms between July 15-17, and were born in countries outside of Canada that do not provide childhood immunization against the disease, the statement says. Public health is strongly recommending that adults between 20 and 36 years old who have not received a meningococcal disease vaccine contact their health care provider to receive a shot as soon as possible.

“TPH will monitor vaccine demand and is actively exploring additional vaccination channels,” the statement says.Symptoms of meningococcal disease include fever, aches, joint pain, headache, stiff neck and photophobia. The disease spreads by sharing saliva or spit and usually involves close or lengthy contact with an infected individual, the statement says.

Now that is a deadly disease. I had viral meningitis and the headache has no words to describe and I had never experienced projectile vomiting before. They handled the pain with pain killers but no vaccines for a virus. You just wait it out and hope for no side effects
