Public advisory prompted after high concentration of bacteria found in water samples taken

Routine water sampling has indicated that there is a health risk associated with the water quality at Moonlight Beach, part of Lake Ramsey in Sudbury.

"Going into the water when bacteria are present in high concentrations puts bathers at risk for infections. Illness can occur if swimmers swallow beach water; if water gets into their ears, eyes, or nose; or if it comes in contact with open wounds," said the news release.
