Monkeypox has been detected in a 4-year-old Italian greyhound in France whose owners had an onset of symptoms, according to a medical journal repor

said the dog who was infected with monkeypox slept with its owners, two men who are nonexclusive partners. Twelve days after the couple showed symptoms of monkeypox—including ulcerations, rashes, headaches and fever—their dog showed lesions on its body.

The animal soon tested positive for the virus.
