'The flat smells repugnant and damp.'

Nicola Gibb says staying in her Maryhill property has become ‘intolerable’ after she discovered disgusting patches of black mould which have spread in her hallway and bathroom.

"You wouldn't leave an animal to live in a flat like this and I constantly struggle for breath because of the mould spores. Nicola was diagnosed with cancer in August last year and underwent surgery to remove part of her right lung in November. She’s now in remission but requires regular hospital check-ups.

“Soon after, I noticed a smell coming from the hallway and when I pulled back the carpet it was covered in thick black mould. It’s absolutely disgusting, and it has now spread up the walls leaving the place in a terrible state. "I’ve got a very weak immune system and get breathless easily. I can’t sleep at night worrying about what I could be breathing in."

Not many people talk about the potential downsides of the “wonder drug” immunotherapy, or this: “What people don't necessarily see is the toll the diagnosis, numerous surgeries, scans and appointments have had on my mental health.” I was born with moles and more came over the years (now 72). Living and working in Germany I had some removed (benign). I then had annual check ups. When back In Wales (U.K.?) I was shocked to find out that it is up to me to do the checking. 'I've been let down - I shouldn't have stage-4 cancer''This is an absolute disaster' Imperial College London's prof_price tells Newsnight delays in care is the worst cancer crisis she's seen in her lifetime. 📺 Full report tonight on BBC 2 at 22.30 PT1-My partner had a scan for a growth on her Thyroid early this year which showed it had doubled in size over the last six months. When she asked what do we do next, she was told that they wouldn’t do anything as it was only at 1cm and the other grows were smaller. PT2 - When she asked what do we do next, she was told ‘When you have problems swallowing or breathing, then come back’…..utterly ridiculous. Fortunately, she was able to go back to Portugal where her mum still lives, and have a biopsy done that week due to urgency and concern. prof_price Bankrupted ourselves and saved the NHS at least though, so was all worth it.
