Public Health Ontario is reporting eight new confirmed cases of monkeypox in Ottawa in the last week. ottnews

Updated data, released Wednesday, show 31 confirmed cases and one probable case in the nation's capital, up from 23 confirmed cases last week.

Provincial officials say there are 423 total confirmed cases of monkeypox in the province, up from 326 last week. Of those, 329 are reported by Toronto Public Health. All but two of the confirmed cases in the province are in men. The World Health Organization has called the spread of the virus a global emergency. Public Health Ontario identifies engaging in sexual or intimate contact with new and/or more than one partner as one of the most common risk factors for monkeypox in the province; however, officials stress that while most identified cases have affected men who have sex with men, anyone can get monkeypox.

Concerning, but for comparison, please post the number of new covid cases in Ottawa, from JUST YESTERDAY. About 10% of Covid infections result in long Covid damage, that shortens patient lives & renders them incapable of work or anything else. Where is our focus on this?

All in Covid-vaccinated patients I imagine..

WHERE in Ottawa? I'm still wearing a mask and was 'advised' to wear surgical gloves again when 'shopping'... 😠🙄🤒.... Okay.... ' Better to be safe than sorry .'

Pride week starts earlier

“All but two of the confirmed cases in the province are in men.” Gay men, right?

Bet they are all around bank street

Ottawa, no more 2m. 😀😎

Abdulla: An apology to my Ottawa patients for our broken health-care systemIt will take thousands more family doctors and thousands more nurses to fix this problem. Current doctors and nurses will have to agree to less pay in order to free up money for additional drs and nurses. Throwing more $ at the system is not the answer. 2017…these problems are not new.
