Toronto General Hospital ICUs under critical care bed alert due to staffing shortage onpoli

University Health Network says the alert applies to its cardio-vascular, cardiac and medical-surgical intensive care units at Toronto General Hospital.

A spokesperson for UHN says it took the action due to a staffing shortage and the hospital is actively triaging patients and working with the provincial organization that directs emergency critical care to ensure patients get the most appropriate treatment. The hospital network says it must also ensure there are beds available on the impacted units for daily surgeries.

The critical care bed alert at Toronto General Hospital is the latest sign of Ontario’s continued health-care staffing crisis, with hospitals across the province forced to scale back or temporarily close emergency rooms and intensive care units. Last month, UHN said it needed to enlist volunteer staff, medical residents and nursing students to help backstop one of its ERs during a weekend staffing crunch.

This is nothing new - maybe better hospital management is the answer - removing all the million dollar CEOs would be a great start.

Hire back the nurses that were let go problem solved. But hey Trudeau spent that cash fast.

Hopefully they continue firing every healthcare worker who refuses the shot every 6 months.

gee i wonder why our healthcare system is breaking apart 5 million migrants in the last 16 years 2.2 million children birth by those 5 million migrants its almost 20% of Canada current population you think our healthcare system has grown by 20% in the last 16 years ? NO NO NO

If we can't be provided with timely health care procedures in Ontario then we should be able to receive health care in the US and refunded for the costs.

What's the issue? There are 50 other ICU's within a 1 hr drive of TGH? Transferring patients has been a daily occurrence for decades in every metropolitan area.

Collateral damage due to 3 years of treating covid as the only disease in the world and ignoring all others. We now have shortage of staff due to covid mandates and a backlog of undiagnosed and untreated medical conditions that many will die from that didn’t have to die.

Medical staff shortages were highlighted in the book Trudeau promoted in 2020, 'covid-19 the great reset'. It's available on Amazon and it has detailed descriptions how government is attacking healthcare in North America and farmland in Europe

Private care is being pushed by the Premeir's office

If nurses were let go because they asserted their right to refuse a vaccine that does not stop transmission then that is a tragedy created by the government as well as the hospitals.

This crisis has been decades in the making “In fact, today’s doctor shortages in Ontario and across Canada are the direct result of policies deliberately adopted by provincial governments in the early 1990s.”

Why don't you report on the 6000 foreign trained medical people who were promised with accreditation last year.
