Ain’t that America

Canadians suffer, while junior gives another 50M to foreigners. Canadians first, Canada first!

Not acceptable!!! 😡

If the government of Canada is going to de facto ban its citizens from supporting a private health insurance industry that gives freedom of choice to the amount of coverage, then it really needs to step up and cover these things.

Simple solution- leave the country and through away your ID and cross as an “irregular” border jumper and it will be covered

BillTufts More of that wonderful universal healthcare everyone brags up. Does anyone actually realize how much of your tax dollar goes toward ‘free’ healthcare?

Disgraceful! Shame on you JustinTrudeau sending millions of OUR $’s out of the country when the money is needed here in Canada for Canadians’ healthcare.

If it's filed under Healthcare, the province should and must cover it, and if they cannot perform the surgery, they should and must pay for a citizen to have it done elsewhere. No exceptions or else universal Canadian Healthcare devolves!

We have tons of money for hockey rinks though... 😡😡

Baying hound dogs of media are at it again sensationalizing a story with a misleading title. He is going to NY to pursue EXPERIMENTAL treatments. EXPERIMENTAL. Of course public healthcare isn’t covering it because it’s not yet a proven treatment. Sheesh. Read the article, sheep.

Most prescription drugs aren't paid for by the government. That is not unusual.

This government has money for every Dick & Harry that comes illegally into the country ,but they won’t cover a test that might save a mans life ! GoFundMe might help ,wish the gentleman good luck .

This has to be Doug Fords fault, somehow. 🙄

People in these rare disease situations, it always so sad. But as is expected, they are desperate, for any hope, to the point they will grasp at straws. It's an experimental treatment with no reasonable guarantee of positive results, not suprised it isn't covered.

Yeah Awesome Canadian health care!!! FKN JOKE!

His choice. The rest of us can't afford to pay for every experiment.

It’s an ultra rare cancer, so using the gold std of clinical trials means proof that it works wld be impossible to obtained by OHIP stds. There needs to be exceptions for rare diseases w/o any other options.

Ooo Canada

It'd be a lot easier to pay for it had he not been forced to pay for substandard care here.

StephTsicosCTV Wow that's not right at all

Canadian taxpayers have no idea how much money we spend paying hundreds of useless ‘middle’ managers in health care who sit on their offices all day doing nothing.

Let me guess? A goFundMe page will be in here somewhere?

Wow

This is just beyond bullshit

They will pay for the gender reassignment surgery though. 🙄

Damn...

It's an experimental treatment, how does anyone know it will work and regardless what system we have it should not be included. If the final conclusion is that it did work then there should some compensation, case by case determination.

BUT, BUT, BUT, IT IS UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE!!!!

Is HashishDoug gonna open the province's wallet to save this man?

But that money and much more goes towards gender equality

Should our health care cover treatment only available in other countries?

'Experimental'

And yet we (on an average) all $489/month out of taxes for this service.

Go ahead and tell me how our healthcare system is the best in the world, people. It needs reform, NOW.
