The deputy will be back on duty next week as scheduled after being exposed to fentanyl during a traffic stop.

Authorities say a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy is recovering Friday after being exposed to fentanyl in Monterey Park.

Deputies had stopped a driver the area of Garvey and Strathmore, near Rosemead Boulevard, when one of them experienced a reaction consistent with being exposed to fentanyl and was rushed to County-USC Medical Center, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's officials. A tweet from the Temple sheriff's station said the deputy has been released from the hospital, and will be back on duty next week.

Quality journalism

Repost after everyone corrected you last night? WTF is wrong with you 'journalists.'

Will you folks ever stop promulgating this fentanyl BS? copaganda

Didn’t happen.

when the propaganda goes so hard the byline is 'cbsla staff' because no one wants to put their name on it

Of course, because he was never exposed to fentanyl. Is this journalism? 💁‍♂️

Footage of what happened (2022, colorized)

Don't hide it in your mouth.

Hi joybenedict who is responsible for this fake news? This isn't how fentanyl works. I thought you worked for a reputable news outlet?

Crime, drugs, mass shootings, violent felons released on our streets. Who is responsible for all these increases?

Of course he’s fine cause fentanyl exposure doesn’t work that way.

Thank u, brave guardian and may the Gatorade cleanse your beautiful body so it may get back out to our treacherous streets. Feed your soul and kiss your feet!

Give me a break

Hello, idiots. For the last time, you cannot be exposed to fentanyl this way. How can you possibly still be posting this stuff? My god.

I wonder what the truth is? Sad state of affairs in Cali

The person in the car was fine but the cop got exposed? 😂

After the panic attack he had when somebody yelled ‘bOo! FenTaNYl!’ At him?

you know, it’s less work not to publish lies

Don't do this because the fentanyl will kill you and the lives of police officers will be ruined by the race hustlers and rioting thugs for lies the cops were racist when they were trying to keep you from dying.

Based on the LITERAL PHYSICS OF THE CHEMICAL, it is impossible to overdose on fentanyl by either inhalation of the powder form or topical exposure. The war on drugs has killed exponentially more ppl than any opioid through its continued disinformation. Stop getting ppl killed.

maybe talk to one (1) toxicology expert before taking cops’ dictation

It's deadly stuff so definitely do not hide pills in your mouth when cops are called.

Embarrassing attempt at reporting.

Translation: The deputy will be back on duty next week after being dramatic for no reason during a traffic stop.

Amazing that driver of the car filled with fentanyl wasn’t taken to the hospital for exposure too ‘cause it seems like being trapped in a car filled with fentanyl would be bad. Maybe ask them their secret fentanyl antidote.

Hear me out, what about bubble protection for cops…

I will be back on duty next week as scheduled after being exposed to this misinformation

Everyone should report this tweet for misinformation. I did, and there is an area to provide “additional context” where you can provide reporting that clarified that mere exposure to fentanyl is not dangerous in the way police so often lie about.

omg how many times are we gonna go through this ridiculous cycle of a cop having a panic attack, the media repeating cop pseudoscience, and doctors telling you that you're wrong?

Sooo a cop has a panic attack and then takes vacation time

So the driver was in a car with fetanyl for what must have been an extended period of time and was apparently absolutely fine, but the cop is near it for a few seconds and needs to be rushed for medical care? Does that make sense to you?

Are you not embarrassed to be pushing BS about this?

No. Stop lying. Your parent company has debunked this.
