Cathryn Hoy, a registered nurse and president of the Ontario Nurses’ Association, said the health-care system is already past the breaking point and has “collapsed.”“And we’re going to hit the bottom pretty darn soon.”
It also states the recent increase in cases — the weekly case numbers were up 28 per cent among those eligible for testing — “may lead to increases in the number of severe outcomes reported in future weeks, as these outcomes are lagging indicators.” “We anticipated a bit of a surge in the fall with people getting back indoors, school starting, and we always see an increase in cold and flu at that time, but not a resurgence now,” said Spataro.
Her colleague, Leo Zhu, RN and nurse manager in the emergency department, added that staff are working “extremely hard” through their disappointment of coping with yet another COVID wave, and urged frustrated patients to be kind.Jane Casey, the hospital’s program director of Emergency and Command Centre, said COVID patients are starting to again arrive in greater numbers, with physicians now admitting about six or seven a day, up from an average of one a day earlier this month.
We need to stop providing health care to citizens that only come to Canada for free health care, truly linking their health card to passports will reduce the number of people wanting free health care, year after year.
How about hiring back all illegally fired RN/RPNs....
“Free” healthcare is unsustainable, the US pay per visit is way better… most states don’t have a state tax or if they do it’s usually less than 5%. Canada is taxed to the point of socialism and it still won’t be enough. Time to start both.
This is very true people please mask up and get vaccinated!
Well throwing more money at it never seems to solve the issue. Maybe time to get gov’t out of running it.
is it because canadian government spent too much money funding the Nazis in Ukraine?😃
Meanwhile ford is sitting on unspent healthcare funding. Criminal
+500,000 immigrants and +600,000 foreign students a year fixes this, right?
Of course it collapsed , firing those who didn’t want to be vaccinated brought all this on.
Let’s fix this by rise bars of nurse qualifications to doc degree and also raise their salary to 1 million dollars for this shit mopping work.
Maybe this is what it will take for people to take their own safety seriously.
If the nurses union says it and Toronto Pravda publishes the story then you know a leftist agenda has been agreed upon.
I'm sure its nothing that a big raise can't fix.
The 'elites' are essentially psychopaths who don't care who dies as long as they are comfortable. Destroy their comfort, crush their resistance and make them beg for mercy, or suffer. Mass mobilization, general strikes and direct action. Grow a spine, win a future.
Leave the masks in the ERs and surprise the problems will soon abate!
ER's have always had times during a year in which they are overwhelmed. What has exasperated this, is that many close to retirement, chose to retire than take the shot and schools have not pumped out enough students. Not enough workers entering industries is common across Canada

Record immigration and foreign students should help, right?
During calm seas without any storms the hero performs well. During rough seas and constant storms the hero bails.
