Just days after the launch of an official recruitment drive for health care professionals, the ER at the Whitbourne clinic is closing for a full week due to “human resource challenges.”

The Bonavista ER reopens this morning after a temporary shutdown over the weekend announced immediately following the provincial government’sPremier Andrew Furey knows the frustrations residents feel when the services they need are not available. He says the solutions will take time, but they are working on a number of strategies.

Bloody joke !!😡😡

May be the Premier should answer his telephone, like he suggested.

Think Furey realizes this is going to dog him right into the next election. He can't / won't fix it . . . But he can play the 'it's Trudeau's fault' card . . . Although that can backfire on him pretty quickly too when he goes back to him again with his cap in his hand.

This is not a new issue but an issue that has been ignored for yrs! 4M on come home yr( I stand to be corrected$), and other wastage 🥴. Obviously the job hasn't been seen to for yrs for us to get to this point. For yrs locums were pay/expense $3000 a wkend.

The whole system is a Joke , they can’t even run larger centres that actually have doctors . It’s a complete collapse happening Daily and it’s to late to fix it .

This premier is just trying to appease people. He is promising sweet nothings while we wait 10 years for the New WEF Health Accord. Pay more taxes and get less services. A scientist will tell you how to live.

So they are wanting to replace Doctors with Scientists, therapists and social workers I can see why this man left the medical field

🤣😂 They're recruitment campaign is literally Newfoundland tourism ad campaign.

FureyAndrew Too late after denying the problem existed at first. Is this how you lead? Too little too late? Demand better my little fools.

David Jacobs: Jean Charest's private health-care pitch recognizes the real worldCharest is providing bold and thoughtful solutions to the chronic problems that have long been ignored by federal politicians. Poilievre, in turn, is providing… Charest saw his polling numbers and decided a say anything campaign. 'Coming out against vaccine mandates undermines these needs.' Wut?!? You can still get it whether you're vaxxed or not. A mandate isn't necessary when a simple, cheap test is available. If you test negative, what difference does it make? David Jacobs is a Charest liberal party supporter, nuff said.
