There is currently no stem cell donor match for 4-year-old Minh Nguyen and her mother hopes to change that.

Minh Nguyen, 4, has Medullary Aplasia and is waiting for a compatible stem cell donor.

"It's been hard for her because she doesn't have the life of a four-year-old child anymore," said Minh's mother, Diem Nguyen. Marie-Cindel Surprenant says she felt a personal connection to Minh Nguyen's story when learned about it from a colleague. Nguyen said she was moved by the amount of people who came to get swabbed and show their support on Saturday.Nguyen said her daughter has shown incredible resilience throughout her time in hospital.

"I said, 'No, I'm just having a bit of allergies,' and she said, 'Please, don't say that, mom, I know you're crying.' … I said, 'I just want to stay with you as long as I can.' And she said, 'I'm here for you mom, I'm not leaving you,'" Nguyen recounted.Lack of equity 'unacceptable'
