Try 1 month free "There is supposed to be funding available to deliver in our major hospitals, one nurse to four patients and the unfortunate thing is they don’t deliver those on the morning and afternoon shifts when they’re actually required to do so," he told Sky News Australia.

Mr Hazzard claimed implementing the ratio of one nurse to four patients could lead to some hospital wards to shut down. Picture: NCA Newswire/ Gaye Gerard "They’re very frustrated there is no acknowledgement, there is a bed block problem, there is an internal disaster and efforts need to be made for those patients coming in."

A key message the union hopes the public will hear is to wear face masks again and regularly wash their hands ahead of the Omicron wave set to peak in August.

Have nursing & doctors been banned because they won’t get jabbed? Is this why there is a shortage? All States had 2 yrs to resource the hospital systems knowing there would be large numbers needing medical care. What did any of them do? Right fortune on isolation camps! Priorities

Shutting wards will reflect bad on his government! He won't do it! Truth is all Australian governments have under invested in nurses! Made the career unattractive and relied on overseas recruitment!

It's not spurious, Health Hazzard is saying he WILL close hospitals if nurse:patient ratios are used. Instead of increasing nurses to make up the shortfall, he'll reduce the patients to match nurse numbers by closing hospitals - gotta luv a Lib🤮
