Canada will require that companies add nutrition warnings to the front of pre-packaged food with high levels of saturated fat, sugar or sodium in an effort to help grocery shoppers make healthier choices with just a glance.

But ground meat will be exempt from the labels, after ranchers groups objected to Health Canada's proposal earlier this month.

Health Canada said the new labels will complement, rather than replace, the more detailed nutrition information that's typically on the back of food packaging. At the time, the Canadian Cattlemen's Association said the policy would "vilify" ground meat and make people think it's a less healthy choice than whole cuts.

Focusing on the wrong thing

Should we put labels on cocaine and heroin for potency and cleanliness for the drugs or should we continue to tell kids they need no ID for heroin and cocaine while we prefer gangs and drug cartels to distribute and regulate cocaine and heroin? Are adults brain dead lol?

On artery clogging Big Macs and Whoppers too right?

Duclos showing his MD status again 🤣

Put daily sugar intake % on it

These are the kind of tactics governments use to get a whole bunch of people upset over more trivial pursuits and focus less on the more important struggles which need more immediate remedy of action. Those are usually the kinds of subjects you have to dig deeper to know about.🧐

Way better than fixing the passports, airports or inflation good job

You know cigarettes come with warning too

High fat, high sodium foods are usually inexpensive. Govt should concentrate efforts to make nutritional food affordable.

I hear the crickets are ripe this time of year.

Warning, the price of this product has doubled thanks to trudeau

No labels on experimental mRna vaccibes tho LiberalLogic

This is starting to feel like we are coddling people. People who don’t look at labels on the back of products are not interested if they’re on the front. It’s like putting warning labels on individual cigarettes. Is there anyone who doesn’t know the danger. Picking wrong battles

So now we'll know just how healthy/unhealthy things are that we can no longer afford! Huzzah!

Food costs will increase. This Government does not understand the impact on the lower income and middle class of stupid decisions like this....

What about pharmacists going through adverse reactions for covid vaccine shot which legally should be done to complete the whole, informed consent.

Like 'this is worse for your health than COVID'?

Thank goodness that’s exactly what Canadians prioritize right now, who cares about the passport debacle, international embarrassment our airports, soaring food and gas prices
