THE Department of Health has urged the public to observe health protocols during the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. as the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic isn't over.Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that people should remain vigilant and aware, especially since the number of Covid-19 cases in the National Capital Region has been rising.

'Alam natin na importante ang mga event na ito, kailangan lang po maging vigilant tayo, maging aware tayo at lagi pong ipatupad ang minimum public health standards ,' Vergeire told a briefing on Wednesday. 'The minimum health standards include hand hygiene by using alcohol or alcohol-based sanitizers and wearing of fully-fitted masks that cover both the nose and mouth.
