The Federal Government is committed to improving the well-being of women, children, adolescents and the elderly in Nigeria, Health Minister Osagie Ehanire has said.

Ehanire made this known in Abuja at the first Bi-Annual meeting on the Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child Adolescent and Elderly Health plus Nutrition and the National Health Insurance Authority .

“We also inaugurated the Ministerial Committee on the provision of health insurance for retirees and older persons, that ensures the elderly are not left behind, and the report has been submitted,” he said. He said that the commitment was aimed to increase domestic funding and sustainable financing through the earmarking of one percent health budgets, at federal and state levels.
