The cancer campaginer regularly appeared on television shows to tell people that early detection was the key to saving lives.
The mother-of-two passed away peacefully at home on 28 June as she told people to “check your poo” in her final message.Deborah, also known as Bowel Babe, raised millions of pounds for cancer research as she fundraised for charities like Cancer Research UK, Bowel Cancer UK and the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity through her Bowelbabe fund on Just Giving.She appeared frequently on the show Lorraine and raised awareness for the show’s #NoButts bowel cancer campaign.
Deborah pointed out that early detection saved lives and told viewers that if they experienced these symptoms to contact their doctor: The television presenter shared her diagnosis story as she was initally told that her symptoms were connected to IBS, haemorrhoids or colitis.She said: “Despite being reassured on numerous occasions that I must have IBS, haemorrhoids or worse case colitis, my blood tests and stool sample came back 'normal' so everything must be fine!
