The chief health officer said vaccine mandates would remain in place for health workers, and urged Queenslanders and doctors to be aware of COVID medicines.

The state’s chief health officer has urged Queenslanders and doctors to be aware of available COVID-19 medicines, as the threat of new sub-variants is expected to take up more hospital beds.

“The numbers have already surged and they have been surging for the last couple of weeks. How high that will get, we don’t know, we don’t know how big a surge we will see.” When asked about unvaccinated workers returning to work, Gerrard said mandates for health workers would remain and simply shift to an employment directive.“When the emergency is undeclared, everything will end, and everyone should know that, but what we want to make sure is if we’re talking about hospitals, that staff are still vaccinated in those hospitals.

Gerrard urged Queenslanders to keep up with their vaccinations, particularly those aged over 65 to get their fourth dose.

CHO isn’t talking about covid

Not one thing this guy has said or done since taking up his position is backed by public health best practice. The simplest thing to bring numbers down would be a mask mandate, which he refuses to even consider.

What did these gov muppets think was going to happen. Once they gave up, everyone went back to fucking normal with old ignorant habits.

Stop testing for covid. It's pathetic. Test when severely ill and in hospital.
