At the time, I was doing a personal training course. In my head, I was the fittest and healthiest I’d ever been in my life. She explained: “Only that there was so much going on in the media about Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I don’t know if I would have taken that step to check in with my GP.”The teacher shared: “That was in October and I received correspondence from them that they would see me within six to eight weeks.
She said that she decided to go private explaining that she “needed to be seen”, with a specialist diagnosing her with triple negative breast cancer.She added: “People just couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe it myself when the consultant told me and broke the news to me. “If I kept the right one, I would be getting breast checks quite regularly and I would have to be checking myself.”
