People who experience poverty are 49% more likely to live in areas that exceed the national pollution threshold, the report found.in the journal “Environmental Science & Technology Letters” similarly found that Black and Latino communities in the U.S. have been systematically exposed to higher levels of air pollution, largely as a result of redlining.
