BREAKING: Instead Of Ordering X-rays, Alberta’s Lardass RN’s order Bucket after Bucket of KFC

For all of you against this, never travel to northern canada. There are doctors in communities only once a month. Nurses do xrays, suturing and prescribing for basic conditions. Do it all safely with evidence based guidelines. You don’t like it, then never travel here...

Strongly, strongly disagree with this. Nurses don't have the proper education or training to prescribe medication. This is a huge mistake. They also can't read an X-ray or properly diagnose someone who needs one, so a doctor will have to do this anyway. Horrible decision.

They are already doing that in emergency with asthma protocols ect. I think it’s a great idea , im sure the px’s they can write , like starting ventolin - has to follow a strict protocol. They won’t be prescribing on a hunch. This will reduce wait times. I’m for it

Excellent, 4-years + article = write the script Nurses 🕶

Really ?

Noice!

Neither nurses, nor doctors know anything about drugs. The ailment should be identified on a prescription and the drug and dosage should be up to the pharmacist, the expert. You should walk into a pharmacy with a prescription starting you have 'streptococcus'.

Why doesnt this government do something about the e coli outbreak. After all we all eat, oh wait maybe not in Alberta anymore. If they are concerned about the health of albertisns. Keep our food supply safe.

🚧Real dangerous⚠️ unless it's morbidity reduction programs...

Sorry, can't agree with this one. Nurses are not doctors and who takes the blame when there is a prescribed mistake

Long overdue. I trust an RN over a doctor sometimes.

Good news for PrecisionHealth.

This is great news and will really help take some of the burden off doctors, specialists and pharmacists. Is it save? Absolutely. With big data and AI to share health care related information it allows professionals to make better educated and informed decisions.

Implications for nursing education?

Albert's 'Health Minister' is one doughnut away from exploding.

NDP should be first in line!
