In these days of uber-partisanship, it’s sometimes become hard to figure out which federal-provincial problems are real and which are simply driven by non-Liberal premiers taking their shots at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government that’s despised in many parts of the country. It’s time for the feds and the provinces to get together and examine the structure of the entire health-care house … or, perhaps better put, the hospitals that have always been a favourite vote-buyer for politicians in places like Saskatchewan.Article content
This isn’t to suggest that 50-year-old decisions are cast in stone and don’t need updating, but it is to suggest that it’s more complicated than what seems all part of the bigger political narrative for some premiers like Moe attempting to carve a career out of blasting Trudeau. What it should mean is more investment in mental health, preventative health care and — as the pandemic demonstrated seems necessary — health education in our school system and elsewhere that might give people the critical thinking tools so badly lacking.Article content
