I just fact checked your article and found that the true prevalence of intersex is seen to be about 0.018%, almost 100 times lower than Fausto-Sterling’s estimate of 1.7%.

plusted1 -You write about a serious issue. I feel it deserves a bit more care with the numbers. Saying it is estimated 1-2% implies around 3-500k in Aust whereas 2016 census reported 40 intersex in Aus-that could be under reported but that seems too big a gap to ignore
Tread carefully, vulnerable people need understanding, especially if they are very young, a matter for the medical experts to work out first, then it can go to politics and the law.
