Ryan Honary, an eighth grader from Orange County, is working on a project that could become a game changer for fire prevention.

The inventor behind this groundbreaking technology is"I've been working on this for a very long time in my terms," the 14-year-old student said.

His sensors use a wireless mesh network to communicate heat or smoke information to what he calls a"mini-meteorological station." The sensors are battery-powered and work in high-risk, secluded areas with little to no impact on the environment, costing roughly $10 each.

This is so awesome, congratulations to this very smart young man.

DanielFireTruck $10 each? The antenna alone cost $10 haha, that system or mesh network station has to at least cost $300-$1,000! Look at the sensors, solar panels, and all of the components, etc. Just $10 each? The only thing predictable about brush🔥fire is it’s unpredictable. But good on him!

isn't that the kid from theumbrellaacademy ?
