3-year-old has HFMD, not monkeypox, says health DG

RESULTS from the National Public Health Laboratory has confirmed that a three-year-old child rumoured to have contracted monkeypox is infected with hand, foot and mouth disease , Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said. He said the child tested positive for Coxsackievirus A6 which causes HFMD, and negative for monkeypox as well as several other viruses.
