The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office says Derrick Fischer was pronounced dead at the home on the 1000 block of Cole Avenue at about 12:17 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers were called to the home at about 11:55 p.m. Monday. Detectives believe the unknown suspect arrived at the home just minutes before the shooting.

The shooting is the 13th homicide this year in Akron, according to police. Just hours later on Tuesday, the city recorded its 14th homicide when a 15-year-old boyAnyone with information on the shootings can call police at 330-375-2490 or Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-COPS. Individuals also can send tips by texting TIPSCO to 274637. People offering tips can remain anonymous.
