Medical device designer and manufacturer Arrotek is to create up to 100 jobs in Sligo after the company was granted planning permission for a 20,000 square foot extension to its headquarters in the town.

Arrotek is based in a purpose-built 50,000 square foot facility in the Medtech cluster in Finisklin Business park in Sligo, which was built in 2019 and features manufacturing cleanrooms, laboratory and engineering offices.The new jobs will be created across all departments within Arrotek including design engineers and project managers, quality, production, finance, customer service and administration.

The company undertook a major recruitment drive in 2020 and 2021, doubling its workforce and expanding its manufacturing offering to include a third cleanroom and new braiding, coiling and laser welding technologies. "This is testament to the high-quality workforce that we currently have and will be recruiting into the future," he said,
