A mother living in Bettystown Co. Meath has told how her son has been battling cancer since he was just 12 years old.
“The pain was on and off, but it wasn’t going away. So I brought him to Temple Street hospital in Dublin. But two weeks later, the pain still hadn’t gone away, so Nadia took her son back to hospital and they ran some tests. “The main tumour was under the arch of his left foot, so it was well-hidden. It was not very big, and because of where it was he hadn’t noticed it, but the cancer had spread around his body.”
Nadia, who is originally from Slovakia, has also arranged for Slav to be seen by doctors abroad as Ireland doesn’t have any dedicated sarcoma specialist for children.“We just have to keep fighting, there’s no choice really. My role is to help him as much as I can. The family’s next hope is a treatment involving umbilical cord blood cytokine induced killer cells, which Nadia is optimistic about.
🙏 please god he gets the treatment thats needed !
