PUBLISHED 10:21 PM CDT Apr. 11, 2022BELL COUNTY, Texas — The U.S. Army recently launched a new version of its fitness test for the first time in over four decades. scores collected by the Army, women failed the old version at noticeably higher rates, and older soldiers passed at lower rates. discovered "that if implemented as a gender-neutral test, the ACFT could negatively affect recruiting and retention of some occupational specialties.

The U.S. Army just introduced a new version of the test. Capt. Christopher Buys says key changes include implementing age and gender scoring scales.
