The Health Service Executive has spent over €1.2m in legal costs related to cases taken against it by families who felt that their children with disabilities had received inadequate care.
The majority of them related to the Assessment of Needs process, which identifies the health needs of children with disabilities. The HSE added that a small number of cases have been escalated to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. The HSE added that a separate case is before the Court of Appeal and that it is waiting for that ruling to be issued before it can progress with those reforms.
Not to mention Paul Reid's salary is at least twice what it should be, and he isn't even qualified.
involve_d6_d6w AnneRabbitte.. why? Let's work together to make this better for these children..
€1.2 million spent by HSE to defend their failure to give children their constitutional rights. €1.2 million spent to challenge parents seeking rights for their children. €1.2 million spent to defend the indefensible.
High Court ruling the HSELive assesment system unlawful should have resulted in dismissal at the higest level of the HSE. An independent audit into HSE spending on legal fees is urgently required DonnellyStephen AnneRabbitte davidcullinane ivanabacik RoisinShortall
