Health care money to provinces will come with strings attached, Liberals suggest

The premiers want Ottawa to increase health transfers by $28 billion immediately and have it grow by five per cent a year. The premiers argue the federal government only funds 22 per cent of health costs, but the Liberals claim they fund 33 per cent. I'm the furthest thing from a Trudeau supporter but this isn't a bad call. Other countries spend less and have better service than we do. Asking provinces to show how more funding would be used after they've historically thrown it away (looking at you Quebec) isn't unreasonable.

Given fordnation 's inability to properly account for billions in federal funding we in ON are almost giddy over our lack of surprise.
