DOTHAN, Ala. - A local pediatrician is speaking out against the transgender treatment ban signed into law by Governor Kay Ivey.
“It sets a dangerous precedent of state interference in the doctor-patient and doctor-parent relationship,” expresses Dr. Nola Ernest. Dr. Ernest continues, “Suicide is already a common cause of death in youth of all ages, but among transgender youth, 86% of transgender youth contemplate suicide, and almost half attempt it.”“They were already scared before because the whole experience of being transgender is fraught with conflict in the community,” says Dr. Ernest. “This only throws another kink into navigating life and care for these patients.
This Dr really needs to leave personal feelings out of this and do what's right for the child. I can't imagine taking my daughter to her when she was about 12 and her confused about being a boy and this Dr saying she would give her hormone treatment to make her a boy in life.
If you are born a female then you are raised as such. If she says she feels like a boy then the pediatrician doesn't have no right to treat as such. Child is confused. You aren't born transgender. Never has this been an issue in Earth's lifetime. No reason to start now.
I totally disagree with the Dr. What she said on the 10:00 news made no sense. The law signed by Gov Ivey is to protect children under 19 from parents forcing and/or allowing their kids to undergo such unethical treatment because of a choice....
It absolutely SHOULD be a felony. Doctors take an oath..”above all else, do no harm.” Telling lies to children and blocking their natural puberty in order to medically change their God given gender is CHILD ABUSE.
The AAP has been hell bent on promoting the use of puberty blockers on these children. This is a social agenda that is being pushed on minors. Children should never be pawns for the agendas of adults.
