100 benefit from group’s medical outreach | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News ⬇️

The Chairman of the Association, Mr Sola Olatunji, said that the outreach was targeted at reducing the burden of non-communicable diseases among indigenes of Ikale residing in Lagos.

Olatunji said that the medical outreach was borne out of the desire to liberate people from ignorance and lukewarm attitude to health issues. “We were deeply saddened by the spate of sudden deaths among our people in recent time. We feel we can halt this by embarking on a health awareness campaign, educating our people on how to manage their health and an outright examination and treatment of those who can’t afford the high cost of medication.

“We are saying it loud and clear by this historic event of today, that it is high time we pay heed to our health and start taking it seriously,” he said. Olatunji, who said that health is priceless, noted that it was essential to maintain a healthy and disciplined lifestyle through healthy diets and regular exercise. Also, a public health physician, Dr. Japheth Olugbogi, said the medical outreach played a critical role in improving and extending the reach of health care to more people.
