Two nurses are challenging the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for healthcare workers in the Supreme Court of South Australia.

A lawyer for nurse and AFLW player Deni Varnhagen has told the Supreme Court that challenging the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for healthcare workers in South Australia is "a case about power".Two nurses are seeking judicial review of the government's COVID vaccine mandate for healthcare workersThe court heard nurse and inactive Crows player Deni Varnhagen lost her job over the mandate

"They contend that if the approval of the Governor to extend the state of emergency on the 4th of March was itself invalid, any direction that was thereafter imposed is no longer in effect," he said. Mr Ower said Ms Varnhagen did not get vaccinated because she believed the mandate direction left her with no choice and it was being forced on her.He told the court the vaccine mandate for healthcare workers was a "one size fits all" policy with "no possibility of individuals being taken into account".

He said Professor Spurrier replied in an email on January 5 that a third dose was required on the basis Omicron was spreading rapidly in South Australia, and two doses were not providing enough protection. Mr Ower said that, based on that email, Mr Stevens gave a direction to healthcare workers saying they would require a third dose to remain employed.

I wonder if the QC is vaccinated?. If he wants to defend them surely he practising what he is preaching.

As long as the ones who won't be vaccinated wear a different coloured uniform and the patients have a right to not be in contact with them.

Rules ?

Moron.

I'd give her a jab

Hey get someone to ask this Deni Varnhagen dimwit which side of the road does she drive on? What speed she drives at? What time she starts work? What time her AFL game starts? Or does she just make her own choice? Yeah, I thought so. It's a power thing ain't it 😦

You'd reckon a nurse would know better. The stupid is very strong with these two.

She will need deep pockets for this stupid fight

Hope she wins.

NO JAB NO PLAY! if it's good enough for childcare its good enough for these 2............

This is not about power; it is about stupidity.

Just get jab or don’t play simple

Nice way to spend an afternoon and blow some cash on legal fees I guess.

That girl needs to be vaccinated for bird flu because she looks like a bird.

Good on them, smart

I find it interesting that you didn't call her an anti-vaxxer. Was that an editorial decision?

lol. For a vaccine that doesn't even work and carries with it the risk of heart attack and death.

One haircut away from 'I want to speak to the manager' enough of the BS, get the jab or get out of your job

Imagine being a HEALTHCARE WORKER and complaining that you have to get a vaccine 😭😭

A case about privileged whiners, more like.
