The new infections reported today include 5,750 PCR-confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 5,089 positive antigen tests registered through the HSE portal.

There is no longer a need for the"draconian" emergency measures that were in place during the pandemic, according to Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly.

"What we're doing is we're moving from the emergency phase of Covid to a medium term living with Covid."However, the regulations, the legal requirements around people being fined and potentially being arrested, we thought it was important that we moved away from that." "So the question is, why are we not considering that? Yes, there are a lot of patients in hospitals with Covid and it is causing huge pressure, but when we look at the rate of severe illness, those in ICU, actually the numbers are very low.

— RTÉ News April 1, 2022 He said that in other countries there has been a rapid decline in cases once the peak is reached. The CMO also warned that the Covid burden on acute hospital care also remains"significant" with the acute hospital system under"considerable pressure" particularly in congested emergency departments.

So vague. PCR or Antigen WTF? People need clear dialogue. This is completely against scientific advice worldwide. We need to support our hospital staff.

Quick summary. Those under 55 with a head cold don’t need to test. If you a Clare Byrne listener please isolate for 30 days in fully Hazmat suit. That is all.

How can anyone listen to these cunts ? Never followed guidelines not vaccinated never wore a mask never got 'covid'. Country is gone to fuck hope all the sleep are happy now

What happened to get test and get tested often. Along with flatten the curve. Help the healthcare workers keep hospitals from overcrowded with Covid patients. Once the Paddy Day Covid surge is over we back to the Easter surge. Are we not learning anything.

I'd hope he meant no test but stay isolated!

Ironic only person wearing a mask in photo Do as I say....

Common sense

If you are well then you wouldn't be testing anyway.

Jesus...

So Leo is the New CMO or Has he taken over The Health Ministry aswell Did he say when was this decision taken?

Tell your father he looks like a goat 🐐

WHO states testing and sequencing is important for monitoring VOC’s people are likely to attribute symptoms to ‘a cold’ this is recipe for widespread transmission. Government should be aiming to reduce transmission. Policy based on ICU numbers is reductive and myopic.

Claire byrne wont be at all happy

Has he taken himself off the Medical Register so that he’s no longer bound by ethical behaviour?

Never really did.

Hard luck if you are older and have serious morbidities. It’s a policy based on dismantling all remaining protections. Letting it R.I.P.

Great news move on

That boy thinks he is still in charge 🙄

Unusual_Times Gab_H_R thoughts?

We now have the Tanaiste saying no evidence masks would have stopped transmission and the Min for Health saying that lockdowns are draconian. Good luck getting anyone to comply if we EVER have to introduce any protective measures in the future.

BA.2 has peaked...

Other than looking for a few days off work, why are people still testing?

The figures do not accurately represent the full reality.
