The Football Association of Zambia has confirmed the death of the Confederation of Africa Football's medical doctor, Joseph Kabungo, who died at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday.

The Nigeria Football Federation said, on Wednesday, that Kabungo died of cardiac arrest.

Kabungo was said to be CAF’s doping control officer for the second leg of the qualification match between the West African rivals for the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar.1 – Kabungo was a member of the support staff of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations’ winning team.
